PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil separating system which efficiently blocks and captures fats and oils, is easy to maintain, and is compact. SOLUTION: The system is provided with oil adsorption members, adsorption material holding cases housing the oil adosorption members and an adsorption material packing vessel for supporting at least one or more adsorption material holding cases. The oil adsorption members and/or the adsorption material holding cases are supported horizontally or with an inclination by a prescribed angle with respect to a horizontal plane according to drainage volume in such a manner that waste water containing the fats and oils flows down from one end side toward the other end side. The adsorption material holding cases have sump forming members for temporarily storing the waste water on their downstream side. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
