<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of generating three-dimensional effect, a three-dimensional effect image and decorations produced by the method, uses of them for security, and security marking and securit documents including the three-dimensional image. <P>SOLUTION: The method of generating three-dimensional effect by providing at least one 1st and at lest one 2nd image layers of chiral liquid crystal materials is characterized in that: one of the 1st and 2nd image layers reflects a clockwise circular polarization and the other a counterclockwise circular polarizaiton; the 1st and 2nd image layers include a polymerized or crosslinked cholestric liquid crystal mateiral and are obtained by supplying a polymerizable chiral liquid crystal material onto a substrate, aligning the material into plannar orientation, and polymerizing the material in the liquid crystal state at a lower temperature of 60°C; and/or that the 1st and 2nd image layers are not put directly one over the other and/or stereo paired images are not formed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
