<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a space-saving sterilizing unit. <P>SOLUTION: This sterilizing unit is provided with a steam generating means 5 which is composed of a plurality of heating source pipes 3 arranged in parallel on the wall of a sterilizing tank 1, and water pipes 4 each located within the heating source pipes 3, where steam to be sent into the sterilizing tank 1 is generated. As all the heating source pipes 3 and all the water pipes 4 are vertically placed, the top ends of the heating source pipes are all connected by a top header 7, while the bottom ends by a bottom header 7, and the top ends of the water pipes 4 are connected by a steam header 11, while the bottom ends by a water supply header 12.
