A device for transferring plastic bottles from a pneumatic conveyer duct 1 to a conveyer surface 3 comprises an upwardly curved duct 4 leading to a substantially vertical duct 5 which is provided at its upper end with a spring- loaded stop plate 14. The upper part of the duct 4 is pivotally mounted at 8 and is provided with an adjustable glass plate 9 providing air outlets 11, 12 and with guides 10. The outlet duct 5 is formed at 18 with air outlets and it is stated that the air flow is as shown and produces a vacuum below a bottle 2 in engagement with the stop plate 14 to assist the action of gravity and of the spring 16 to move the bottle rapidly downwardly on to the conveyer 3.
