<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain highly accurate current control while suppressing switching loss, in a power converter for outputting AC voltage from DC voltage with a pulse width modulation signal. <P>SOLUTION: This power converter, comprising a three-phase modulation voltage command value calculation means of calculating a voltage command value for three-phase modulation; a two-phase modulation voltage command value calculation means of calculating the voltage command value for two-phase modulation; and a two-phase/three-phase modulation voltage command value selective means for selecting either of the voltage command value for three-phase modulation or the voltage command value for two-phase modulation, outputs the AC voltage from the DC voltage by the pulse width modulation signal obtained by comparison output between the voltage command value and a carrier wave selected by the two-phase/three-phase modulation voltage command value selective means. With this constitution, the two-phase/three-phase modulation voltage command value selective means selectively instructs to select the voltage command value for two-phase modulation or the voltage command value for three-phase modulation based on highly valuing which of current control accuracy or inhibition of heat generation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
