<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which efficiently cools a transfer material having a high temperature due to fixing under heat, while taking in account of temperature, humidity, a print mode, and a transfer material type difference, etc. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus transfers a toner image formed on an image carrier to a transfer material (recording paper) P and then heats and fixes the transfer material by a fixing device 17. The image forming apparatus includes: a cooling means (ejected sheet cooling fan) 19 for the transfer material disposed downstream of the fixing device in the direction in which the transfer material is carried; and a control means which controls the cooling capability of the cooling means based upon the outside-air temperature and humidity conditions, a print mode selection condition, or a transfer-material type selection condition. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
