PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separator for a coin battery using the melt-blow nonwoven fabric of a polyphenylene sulfide resin for sufficiently coping with the thinning of a film of the separator and superior in heat resistance and contraction resistance, and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The heat resistant separator is formed of the melt-blow nonwoven fabric of a polyphenylene sulfide having a fiber diameter of 3.0 to 8.0μm, a Metsuke unit of 20 to 70 g/m<SP>2</SP>, a ventilation degree of 10 to 200 cc/cm<SP>2</SP>/sec and a thickness of 100 to 500μm, and is characterized by setting a dimensional change at 180°C is less than 5 %.
