PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic disk drive having a magnetic shielding function capable of effectively avoiding the influence of an external magnetic field without preventing a disk drive main body from being made light and thin. SOLUTION: In this magnetic disk drive, a U-shaped magnetic shield member 180 is arranged, inside a housing 1, over a disk medium 10 except an area facing an actuator 12 and magnetic heads 13 even though the magnetic shield member 180 is located near the magnetic heads 13.
