PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sleeve type new structure as a pipe joint generating no variation in joining strength by simple work, and preventing leakage or breakage for a long period. SOLUTION: A cylindrical portion fitted with an inner periphery of a pipe to be connected is provided on an end portion of a joint main body, and a generally cylindrical resinous sleeve having an inner diameter fitted with an outer diameter of the pipe is positioned on an outer diameter of the cylindrical portion. One end of the sleeve is made to have large diameters in both inner and outer diameter, and the other end is made to have small diameter in both inner and outer diameters. The sleeve is compressed in an axial direction, thereby cutting (shearing) at a stepped portion of a center portion of the sleeve. A large diameter portion runs onto an outer periphery of a small diameter portion to make the small diameter portion contract, thereby sandwiching and connecting the pipe between the joint main body cylindrical portion and the sleeve. A shock absorbing function is added to an abutting (fitting) portion between the sleeve and the main body. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
