PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor-driven compressor capable of restraining an inverter from being enlarged due to its integration. SOLUTION: This motor-driven compressor is mounted with an inverter 41 for driving a motor portion on an external surface 23b of a cylindrical wall 23 a compressor housing has on it. A plurality of electrolytic capacitors 47 constituting the inverter 41 are disposed so that the axial center line M of each cylindrical body may be parallel to each other and parallel to the central axial line L of the cylindrical wall 23. In other words, the electrolytic capacitors 47 are arranged systematically in such a horizontally fallen condition relative to the external surface 23b of the cylindrical wall 23.
