PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a thiol compound in high yield. SOLUTION: This method for producing the thiol compound comprises imcorporating an organosulfur compound of formula(I)( wherein, R is acetyl, propionyl, butyryl or isobutyryl ) with 1-50 mol% of a thiol compound of formula(II)( wherein, R is acetyl, propionyl, butyryl or isobutyryl ) and distilling the product out of the system while carrying out an alcoholysis reaction.
