PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ratchet wrench wherein changeover operation between free regions and wedge regions of wedge members is realized, and workability of fastening and loosening a fastening member is enhanced. SOLUTION: A retainer 13 which holds the plurality of wedge members 12 arranged in a circumferential direction of a ring portion is disposed inside the ring portion 111. Wedge guide grooves 14 are formed on the inner circumferential surface of the ring portion 111 so as to be arranged at intervals corresponding to those of the wedge members 12. Each of the grooves 14 has: the free region which maintains the corresponding wedge member 12 in a free state where the wedge member 12 moves freely between the bottom surface of the corresponding groove and the outer circumferential surface of the fastening member; and the left and right wedge regions each of which maintains the corresponding wedge member 12 in a caught state where the the wedge member 12 is caught between the bottom surface of the corresponding groove and the outer circumferential surface of the fastening member. Further, the wrench body 11 is provided with a changeover means 15 for operating the retainer 13. By use of the means 15, the retainer 13 is selectively moved to the positions where the wedge member 12 faces the corresponding free region of the groove 14, and either of the corresponding left and right wedge regions.
