The pedal assembly for a motor vehicle has a pedal plate (2) pivoted to a housing (1) and carrying a connector (5) with a force transmission (6) link. The connector moves in a guide (17) attached to the housing. The housing has a recess (18) to receive the guide to aid connection of the connector with the pedal plate, via a stop assembly.
