POLYMER DISPERSED LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY

PURPOSE: A polymer dispersed liquid crystal display is provided to secure picture quality in the dark state. CONSTITUTION: A polymer dispersed liquid crystal display includes upper and lower substrates(30,20) arranged facing each other, the first and second polymer dispersed liquid crystal films(42,44), a back light(70), and a reflecting plate(80). The first polymer dispersed liquid crystal film is located between the upper and lower substrates. Liquid crystal molecules of the first polymer dispersed liquid crystal film are surrounded by liquid crystal drops with the first size, dispersed in a polymer material and horizontally arranged. The second polymer dispersed liquid crystal film is placed between the first polymer dispersed liquid crystal film and the upper substrate. Liquid crystal molecules of the second polymer dispersed liquid crystal film are surrounded by liquid crystal drops with the second size larger than the first size and dispersed in a polymer material. The back light is located under the lower substrate. The reflecting plate is placed under the back light to reflect lights emitted from the back light.
