PURPOSE: To provide a one-way clutch whose ring-shaped members such as an outer retainer, an inner retainer, etc. are prepared from the same components. CONSTITUTION: The one-way clutch is equipped with a plurality of sprags 3 arranged in the circumferential direction in a ring-shaped space between a driving side member and a following side member the outer 4 and inner retainers 5 to hold the sprags 3, and a ring-shaped spring 6, wherein the retainers 4 and 5 and the spring 6 are furnished with a good number of pockets 4a, 5a, 6a for sprags, and the sprags are accommodated in part of them 4a, 5a, 6a. It may be acceptable that pockets 4a(5a and/or 6a) in the same number as the sprags used 3 are formed in either of the ring-shaped members to constitute the outer retainer 4 etc.
