PURPOSE: A system and method for monitoring important system messages in a CDMA system is provided to monitor major messages, such as an alarm message, a fault message, a status message, etc., in real time so as to automatically notify an associated operator computer if such an important message is detected. CONSTITUTION: A system for monitoring important system messages is comprised of a wireless terminal(200), a wireless base station(210), an MSC(220), a PSTN(230), a DCN(Data Core Network)(240), a G/W(Gateway)(242), a WAP(Wireless Application Protocol) G/W(244), the Internet(246), a monitoring computer(250), a message monitoring server(260), and a message monitoring database(270). For packet data services, the wireless base station(210) is connected to the G/W(242), the WAP G/W(244) and the Internet(246) through the DCN(240). The wireless base station(210) is composed of a BTS(Base station Transmission System)(212), a BSC(Base Station Controller)(214), a cell enhancer, etc. The monitoring computer(250) monitors important system messages through the message monitoring server(260) and displays them. In the monitoring computer(250), 'Pager Mate', a program to monitor the transmitting and receiving of messages through the message monitoring server(260), is installed.
