PURPOSE: An information storing medium and a recording method thereof are provided to record drive information and disc information in a same area composed of a plurality of ECC blocks and physical clusters, thereby speedily accessing the drive by the information and effectively recording/playing user data. CONSTITUTION: An information storing medium includes a drive/disc area having a plurality of physical clusters and ECC blocks. As new drive information and disc information are renewed, the renewed information is recorded to an area next to the previously recorded physical clusters or ECC blocks. At this time, all the data recorded previously is copied and re-recorded with the renewed information to the same area. When playing the medium, a pickup approaches to a precise position in a short time to play the area having the final drive information and disc information.
