A waste packaging system (11) includes a generally tubular liner (22), stored in a compacted condition within a liner dispenser (20,21). The liner dispenser (20, 21) permits dispensing of the liner (22) by unravelling a portion thereof from its compacted condition so as to line a waste reception area (13) with the unravelled liner (23). The system (11) is provided with sealing means (24) located below the waste reception area (13), to form seals (25) in the unravelled liner (23), and advancing means to advance the unravelled liner (23) through the waste reception area (13) and past the sealing means (24). The waste packaging system (11) may be incorporated in a commode (10) or other similar appliances for containing waste. |
