PURPOSE: A coil detection unit for a wire coil loading apparatus is provided to prevent damage of the coil and breakage of equipments by restricting fall of the coil from wrong operation with contacting a rotating contact roll to the lower part of the wire coil, and to load a lot of coils in the limit space by minimizing the gap between coils. CONSTITUTION: A wire coil loading apparatus is composed of an unloading unit(10) separating wire coils transferred by a C-hook; a loading unit loading separated wire coils; and a detection unit(20) installed at the unloading unit to detect presence or absence of the wire coil. The supply detection unit includes a supply link(22) turned around a hinge in the end of a lift member(15) installed in the unloading unit, a supply spring(24) connected to the lower end of the supply link to elastically install, and a supply limit switch(23) operated by the supply link and formed on the lift member. The loading detection unit comprises a loading link(25) turned around a hinge on a support beam(21) installed at the lift member, a loading spring connected to the lower end of the loading link to install elastically, and a loading limit switch(26) operated by the loading link and formed on the support beam.
