PURPOSE: A plasma display panel is provided to smoothly transfer to sustaining discharge from address discharge by driving in accordance with a pulse having a depressed priming waveform. CONSTITUTION: A plasma display panel comprises a first substrate, a second substrate spaced apart from the first substrate, a scanning and a maintenance electrode(15,16) formed on the first electrode, a dielectric layer(112), and a data electrode formed on the second substrate. A high capacity region(17) in which the capacity of the dielectric layer(112) is larger than that of a dielectric layer(112) in another position is formed so as to extend in a first direction in a position separated from a discharge gap(11). An opening part(7) is formed in the scanning electrode(15) and the maintenance electrode(16) in a position between the discharge gap(11) and the high capacity region(17). |
