PURPOSE: A transmission/reception apparatus and a method for reducing a peak power to average power ratio in an orthogonal frequency division multiplex mobile communication system are provided to conserve the ability of error correction by maintaining the minimum distance of hamming. CONSTITUTION: A method for reducing a peak power to average power in an orthogonal frequency division multiplex mobile communication system includes the steps of: creating at least one indicator bits(kr+3,...,k2r) so as to output complementary sequence through the block coding by inputting a part or all of parallel converted data(k1,k2,...,kr+2); and performing the block coding by distributing at least one indicator bits(kr+3,...,k2r) to a plurality of encoders with the number of 2r/t together with the parallel converted data(k1,k2,...,kr+2).
