PURPOSE: A remote control system having a favorite mode and a method for controlling the same are provided to conveniently select a desired channel by installing one or more favorite keys in a remote controller and selecting/storing the numbers of frequently selected channels according to channel characteristics. CONSTITUTION: A control part scans key input at the standby mode of an initial state(S301-S303). The control part judges whether the number of inputted keys is '0'(S304). If the number of inputted keys is not '0', the control part judges whether the number of inputted keys is '1'(S305). If the number of inputted keys is not '1', the control part judges whether the number of inputted keys is '2'(S306). In case that it is judged that the number of inputted keys is '2', the control part judges whether an arbitrary favorite key and a mute key have been pushed for regular time(S307). In case that it is judged that the arbitrary favorite key and the mute key have been pushed for regular time, the control part enters a favorite key storage mode to select and store frequently selected channels. Then the control part sequentially stores selected channel numbers in a RAM or a memory part(S308). |
