PURPOSE: A folding snow chain for a vehicle is provided to apply to various circumferences, widths, and sizes of tires by changing only a square connecting ring of various lengths, to improve productivity and economical efficiency, and to quickly and accurately mount the snow chain by a simple operation. CONSTITUTION: A folding snow chain having a plurality of snow pads(60) mounted to the circumferential surface of a tire includes pad combining members(21) and supporting piece combining members(22) combined by square rings(23) and connected at both front ends of the snow pads along the central direction of the tire. The supporting piece combining member is combined with outer and inner supporting pieces(11,12) by hinge combining devices(25) and both sides of the outer and inner supporting pieces including spring grooves at both lower sides are connected by pin springs(26) and the hinge combining device in the circumferential direction of the tire. Inner jointing cases(30) having rack gear inserting holes, rollers, stoppers, and rope inserting elongated grooves are fixed to the upsides of the inner supporting pieces at the inner ends by screw fixing devices. Rack gear short pieces(312) having front end rings at the correspondent other side are extended by connecting-supporting pieces(12'), hinge supporting pieces, and vertical hinges(313) and inserted into the rack gear inserting hole. A fixing plate having bolt holes at upper and lower sides is fixed to the upside of the inner supporting piece at the outer end by the screw fixing device. Outer jointing cases(40) having rack gear inserting holes, rope rings, releasing handles, and stoppers are extended rearward and attached to the upsides of the inner supporting pieces by fixing bolts and nuts. Rack gear long pieces(41) having rollers(422) at the correspondent other sides are connected with the inner supporting pieces and inserted into the rack gear inserting holes.
