PURPOSE: A transflective liquid crystal display is provided to condense lights of a lower back light to improve the luminance of the liquid crystal display and increase the contrast of a liquid crystal display panel. CONSTITUTION: A transflective liquid crystal display includes the first linear polarizer(114), an upper substrate(102) that is located under the first linear polarizer and divided into a reflection part and a transmission part, a color filter(106) formed under the upper substrate, a liquid crystal layer(108) formed under the color filter, the second linear polarizer(109) formed under the liquid crystal layer, and a semi-transmission electrode(110) placed under the second linear polarizer. The transflective liquid crystal display further includes a lower substrate(104) located under the semi-transmission electrode, a quarter wave plate(116) formed under the semi-transmission electrode, the first CLC polarizer(118) that is formed under the quarter wave plate and has a pitch corresponding to a specific wavelength band, the second CLC polarizer(120) that is placed under the first CLC polarizer and has a pitch opposite to the pitch of the first CDC polarizer, and a back light(122) located under the second CLC polarizer. |
