PURPOSE: A plasma display panel is provided to achieve improved luminous efficiency of phosphor by increasing the quantity of phosphor excited by the ultraviolet ray, while preventing an erroneous discharge. CONSTITUTION: A plasma display panel comprises a front substrate(111); a rear substrate(112) opposed to the front substrate; a plurality of first electrodes extended in a horizontal direction on the inner surface of the front substrate; a plurality of second electrodes extended at a predetermined angle with respect to the first electrodes on the inner surface of the rear substrate; first and second dielectric layers(130,160) arranged on the inner surfaces of the front substrate and the rear substrate, respectively, wherein the first and second dielectric layers bury the first and second electrodes, respectively; a protective film layer(140) formed beneath the first dielectric layer; and a square barrier rib for defining the discharge space into a plurality of discharge cells, wherein the square barrier rib includes a vertical barrier rib interposed between the second electrodes and a horizontal barrier rib(172) interposed between the first electrodes. The horizontal barrier rib has a protrusion(172a) gradually protruded toward the center of the discharge cell. |
