PURPOSE: An automatic power control method of a plasma display panel and an apparatus thereof and a plasma display panel device having the apparatus are provided to prevent rapid variation of luminance on a screen of the plasma display panel. CONSTITUTION: According to the automatic power control method of a plasma display panel including a number of address electrodes and a number of scanning electrodes and sustain electrodes arranged in zigzag, load variation rate between present input data and previous input data is calculated(S100). It is determined which range the calculated load variation rate belongs to by comparing the calculated load variation rate with a threshold value. A luminance control speed is determined which is a time when new luminance corresponding to the determined range is applied(S200). Then, sustain discharge pulse information corresponding to the load rate of the present data is output with the determined luminance control speed. |
