A vertically adjustable modular kitchen system (2) includes a modular appliance such as a cooker (38,39) and/or storage unit (40) including a first frame section (98,103,106), a base unit (33,34) including a second frame section (90,94) having arranged therein a plurality of vertically adjustable supports and a control unit (77). The modular appliance (38,39) and/or storage (40) and base units (33,34) are designed to interconnect one with the other forming a kitchen system. The control unit (77), provided with each base unit (33,34), enables a consumer to adjust the vertical height of the kitchen assembly associated with the particular base unit (33,34) by raising or lowering the vertically adjustable supports. The appliance (38,39) and/or storage (40) and base units (33,34) are further designed to integrate into either wall assemblies (5) or kitchen island assemblies (7). Vertical adjustment may be achieved via the use of linear actuators such as worm drive, or leadscrew. The actuator may be electrically powered. A switchable control system may include pre set positions that are programmed into a memory. A work top and seperate table may be integrated into the system. |
