<p>A stationary surf paddling exercise device comprising a frame 1 supporting a board 7 mounted on pivoting rockers 8, an upwardly extending portion 2 on the frame housing cogs 4 and cables 6 which serve to operate flywheel(s) 3 when the user pulls the cables 6 during a paddling stroke. The cables 6 may follow a defined track and may be returned to their starting position by a spring. The flywheels 3 may alternatively be mounted on the extended frame portion 2 or just one flywheel may be provided whereby the pulleys provide each other with resistance and return force. The board 7 may have a head support and may be shaped like a surfboard. The rockers 8 may pitch in line and/or roll laterally or they may be excluded. Resistance may be provided with a device other than a flywheel.</p> |
