FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method for preparing asymmetric dialkyldisulfides of the general formula (I): R1-S-S-R2 (I) wherein R1 is CH3,C2H5,h-C4H9; R2 is h-C6H13,h-C8H17,h-C9H19. Indicated dialkyldisulfides are prepared by interaction of isopropyl alcohol, sodium hydroxide (NaOH), alkylmercaptans of the general formula R2SH wherein R2 is h-C6H13,h-C8H17,h-C9H19 and halide alkyls of the general formula R1X wherein R1 is CH3,C2H5,h-C4H9 in the presence of elemental sulfur (S8) at temperature 75-85 C. Process is carried out in the presence of catalyst 1-(N,N-dimethylaminomethyl)- 1,2,4-triazole taken in the mole ratio R2SH : R1X : :S8 NaOH : 1-(N,N-dimethylaminomethyl)-1,2,4-triazole = 10 : (10-11) : (10-11) : (10-11) : (0.2-0.3), respectively, for 2.5-3.5 h.
