FIELD: paper-and-pulp industry. SUBSTANCE: sizing emulsion is aqueous composition for sizing of paper and contains substituted succinic anhydride, in particular alkenylsuccinic anhydride, and positively charged particles of colloidal silica, alumina, or zirconium oxide. Emulsion can be used both for internal sizing of cellulose pulp or for surface sizing of cellulose-based ware. The latter are manufactured by adding above emulsion to suspension of cellulose or dewatered cellulose suspension. EFFECT: increased sizing degree, reduced consumption of sizing agent, and reduced risk of accumulation of sizing agents in recycled white water. 12 cl, 3 tbl, 3 ex |
