FIELD: nuclear power engineering. SUBSTANCE: method includes additional measurement of temperature on buttend part of power-generating cell can at outlet of fissionable gaseous products escaping from cell. Pressure of fissionable gaseous products in cooling system of power-generating cell is measured. Maximal temperature is measured in power-generating cell and service period of cooling system of thermionic power-generating cell is predicted using proposed equation. EFFECT: enhanced precision of predicting service life of thermionic power- generating cell during its experimental harnessing in reactor. 1 cl, 1 dwg
