The support strip (4) with the information on is secured to one half of the cover strip, and the uncovered half includes an adhesive tab for joining the ends of the band together. An identification band comprises a transparent cover strip (3) with a pressure-sensitive coating on one side, and an information-providing support strip (4). The width of the cover strip is essentially double that of the support strip. The cover strip is divided into two sections (1, 2) on either side of its central axis (5), and the support strip is secured to the first section (1) of the adhesive side of the cover strip, the length of this first section being equal to that of the support strip. The second section (2) has a tab (6) extending from at least one end, acting as the adhesive end of the band. An Independent claim is also included for the laminate material from which these bands are punched.
