PURPOSE: A method of culturing Ixeris japonica permitting the absorption of a mushroom mycelium component of a mushroom culture medium into Ixeris japonica while helping the growth thereof by applying the mushroom culture medium on soil prior to or immediate after sowing seed in a field is provided. It allows the rhizome of Ixeris japonica to become soft and pliable to be easily eaten and production thereof in all seasons without the use of a herbicide or fertilizer. CONSTITUTION: A seedling of Ixeris japonica or the rhizome(2) thereof is cut to a specified size and transplanted to a use site. One or more components are applied on soil(10) to form a first sawdust layer(12) to expose only leaf portion(1) from the ground. Then, sawdust, crushed sawdust or waste wood is sprinkled thereon to form a second sawdust layer(13). In the procedure, a mushroom culture medium(11) is applied on soil prior to or immediate after sowing seed in a field. One or more components are selected from sawdust, crushed sawdust, crushed waste wood pieces after cultivation of mushrooms, a culture medium after cultivation of mushrooms or residues produced during processing of food or herbal plants. |
