PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suspension member of high strength and rigidity which is simply formed only by pressing at low cost. SOLUTION: A suspension member 1 to be used for a car suspension is totally constituted of pipes, and the pipes close to end parts 2 are gradually squeezed to fitting end parts 4 while constituting a closed section 3. Flanges 5 and 6 are formed on two surfaces on both sides of the fitting end parts 4 or three surfaces including tips, and the flanges have a common part 7 between the closed sections. The suspension member is smaller in diameter and more lightweight, and more excellent in strength and rigidity than a pressed steel-sheet one. In addition, no welding work is required, and the suspension member can be manufactured at a lower cost than the pressed one, and the strength and rigidity of the fitting end parts and parts in a vicinity thereof are much improved.
