PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size of a cylinder head, improve machining accuracy and require less machining processes by allowing a cam shaft and a rocker shaft to be arranged adjacent to each other in an engine having the cam shaft and the rocker shaft to be assembled on the cylinder head at one side wall. SOLUTION: First and second assembly opening portions 87, 98 corresponding to the cam shaft 68 and the rocker shaft 69, respectively, are provided on one side wall of the cylinder head 41 in a mutually independent manner. One of first and second cover members 88, 99 for individually closing the first and second assembly opening portions 87, 98 is fitted to one of the first and second assembly opening portions 87, 98 so as to be preventive of movement inward to the axial direction, while the other is fixed to the cylinder head 41 in engagement with the outer face of one of the first and second cover members 88, 99.
