PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a temperature control method for a refrigerator of such a constitution that a refrigerant is distributed for cooling a plurality of chambers, capable of setting the cooling speeds of different chambers after the power is put on approximately to the same value. SOLUTION: The temperature control method is for the refrigerator having a valve device of such a structure that a refrigerant inlet 13c, a first outlet 13a and a second outlet 13b for the refrigerant, and a valve element 30 to open and close the outlets 13a and 13b are installed in a sealed space and a stepping motor to drive the valve element, wherein the motor reciprocates between the Open-Close mode in which the first outlet 13a is left open and the second outlet 13b is closed and the Close-Open mode in which the first outlet 13b is closed and the second outlet 13b is left open in the period after the power to the refrigerator is put on until the temperature of the first chamber whereto the refrigerant from the first outlet 13a is supplied and the temperature of the second chamber whereto the refrigerant from the second outlet 13b is supplied attain the specified levels.
