PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To open and close an umbrella 6 high above a door for getting in and out of a taxi 1 when it rains. SOLUTION: A substantially rectangular machine case 3 is provided on a rear part ceiling 2 of the taxi 1, a forward and backward direction support shaft 4 is provided inside one end of the machine case 3, and a handle 7 of the umbrella 6 rising by force of a spring 5 and falling down into the machine case 3 against force of the spring 5 is mounted on the support shaft 4. A wire rope 14 wound around a small diameter drum 12 provided inside the other end of the machine case 3 by bypassing a small pulley sheave 11 from a slide pipe 10 rising to an umbrella opening position to open the umbrella when the handle 7 is erected and close the umbrella 6 when falling down and a wire rope 15 wound around a large diameter drum 13 provided inside the other end of the machine case 3 from a vertex part of the handle 7 are stretched. The small and large diameter drums 12, 13 are provided on an output shaft 17 of a brake motor 16. A torque limiter 18 is provided between the small diameter drum 12 and an output shaft 17.
