PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer that can improve a printing efficiency, prevent a transferring medium from being damaged and stably print a high quality image on the transferring medium, and a method therefor. SOLUTION: This printer 20 comprises a conveying mechanism 30 for conveying an intermediate transferring ribbon 28 having predetermined information, a receiving section 2 for receiving a book shaped transferring medium 1 in a condition that the printing page to be printed with the predetermined information is opened, a transferring section 4 that transfers the predetermined information on the intermediate transferring ribbon to the transferring medium 1 by pressing the intermediate transferring ribbon conveyed by the conveying mechanism 30 against the transferring medium 1 received by the receiving section 2, and guide shafts 31c, 31d provided to peel the intermediate transferring ribbon from the binding side of the transferring medium 1 including the predetermined information transferred by the transferring section 4.
