<p>A print system in which the generation of wasteful print matters is prevented by suspending printing at a page break when the battery of a digital camera runs during automatic printing of an image file sent from a peripheral device, such as a digital camera, directly to a printer. A camera (10) and a printer (20) are compatible with DPOF printing, and the camera (10) can instruct the printer (20) to print an image file not via a personal computer and so on. When the camera (10) judges that an internal battery (18) has run down and the printing cannot be continued, it issues a print cancel instruction. The printer (20) suspends the current printing at an appropriate breakpoint (on a page or object basis) and sends job status information to the camera (10). The camera (10) sends job status information and a DPOF script file to the printer (20) to resume the printing of the unprinted portion.</p> |
