<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink for marking pens which gives distinct written lines without causing a cissing in writing on a label printing surface and does not adhere to, does not transfer to, and hence does not stain, the surface of a nonpolar case, such as made of polyethylene or polypropylene, when stored in the case at a temperature of 50-70°C, thus preventing the lowering in concentration and gloss. <P>SOLUTION: This ink composition for marking pens contains a colorant, a 4C or lower aliphatic alcohol and/or a 6C or lower glycol-based solvent, a styrene-acrylic acid copolymer and/or a styrene-α-methyl styrene-acrylic acid copolymer, and a polyoxyalkylene-modified polysiloxane and has a surface tension at 25°C of 22 mN/m. The HLB of the polyoxyalkylene-modified polysiloxane is 1-14. The styrene-acrylic acid copolymer or the styrene-α-methyl styrene-acrylic acid copolymer has a molecular weight of 20,000 or lower and a softening point of 100°C or higher. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
