PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To culture algae of the family Laminariaceae with simple apparatus and work while effectively using the sea surface. SOLUTION: Ropes 3 holding spores of algae of the family Laminariaceae are vertically suspended in the sea from a raft for pearl culture in winter season to culture the algae and the algae grown on the rope 3 are successively collected from the upper part of the rope in early summer season and thereafter. The culturing method enables the three-dimensional use of the sea area and the culture of algae even in the sea of the southern Japan. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
