The operating method has a signal characteristic (20,21) or signal sequence formed from a received signal obtained from the radar sensor (1) and evaluated for identification of individual objects in the detection range of the radar sensor, the associated distance, direction and velocity information for the identified objects transmitted to an associated control device. An Independent claim for a radar sensor is also included.
