<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium having excellent mechanical characteristic and recording and reproducing characteristic as an optical recording medium capable of high density recording using a short wavelength and to provide its recording method. <P>SOLUTION: In this optical recording medium and an optical recording method using it, a recording layer has a groove with a depth of Aμm and contains an organic dye, wherein a recording and/or reproducing wavelength is 600-680nm, also, a track pitch is ≤0.8μm£ϕ, when a record signal is pulse-divided and recorded, T(ns), shortest pit length (nm), linear velocity (m/s) satisfy such a relation that (shortest pit length/3)/linear velocity = T, andTtop and T(ns) satisfy such a relation thatTtop = 1.15-1.4T. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
