PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact imaging apparatus while a high performance and high magnifying power zoom lens system is provided. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus is provided with a zoom lens system having a plurality of lens groups for continuously optically forming the optical image of an object so as to vary power by changing an interval between a plurality of the lens group and an imaging device for converting the optical image formed by the zoom lens system to electric signals. The zoom lens system is provided with a first lens group having negative power as a whole and having a reflection surface for bending a luminous flux for about 90°and a second lens group arranged with a changeable air interval from the first lens group and having the negative power in the order from an object side.
