PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PM synchronous linear motor with cores in which a thrust fluctuation is reduced while maintaining high average thrust by suppressing the increase in the number of phases of a power supply. SOLUTION: A stator is composed of electromagnets arranged at every prescribed interval L<SB>EM</SB>and excited by the power supply outputting a rectangular-wave current of (n) phases. A slider is composed of permanent magnets arranged at the interval of n/m (n and m are natural numbers to satisfy n>m≥2) of the L<SB>EM</SB>. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
