PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outdoor unit of an air conditioner capable of suppressing interference of piping even in case where refrigerant communication piping is drawn out in the fore-and-aft direction from closing valves on the gas side and the liquid side and where such piping is drawn out in the left-and-right direction from the closing valves. SOLUTION: The outdoor unit of the air conditioner is to be connected with an indoor unit through a gas side refrigerant communication piping 17a and a liquid side refrigerant communication piping 17b and is equipped with a gas side closing valve 18 and a liquid side closing valve 19. The gas side closing valve 18 has a piping connection hole 18a where the gas side refrigerant communication piping 17a is connected, while the liquid side closing valve 19 has a piping connection hole 19a where the liquid side refrigerant communication piping 17b is connected. The piping connection holes 18a and 19a are arranged offset fore and aft and to the left and right, when viewed on the plan. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
