PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve durability with simple constitution and to prevent torque ripple to generate prescribed torque in a torque limiter. SOLUTION: A coil spring 33 is mounted to the outer peripheral surface of a cylindrical member 32 extending in a prescribed direction. When rotational force is applied to the coil spring, torque is generated corresponding to frictional force generated between the cylindrical member and the coil spring. An iron-based sintered alloy is used for the cylindrical member, and the surface hardness of the cylindrical member is set to 1.4 to 1.7 times of the surface hardness of the coil spring. Further, the ten-point surface roughness of the coil spring is set to 1μm to 5μm, preferably 3μm to 5μm. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
