PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screw compressor and a check valve device for the screw compressor for restraining a return of an oil to the suction side while restraining reverse rotation of a screw rotor when stopping the compressor. SOLUTION: This screw compressor has the rotatably journaled screw rotor 11, an oil separating chamber 8 having a demister 21, a delivery passage 14 for delivering compressed air compressed by the screw rotor 11 to the oil separating chamber 8, the check valve device 16 arranged in this delivery passage 14, an oil return passage 24 for returning the oil in the oil separating chamber 8 to a bearing 12 of the screw rotor 11 and a cutoff valve 25 arranged in this oil return passage 24.
