PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating powder base composition which facilitates the coloring of a paint composition. SOLUTION: The invention relates to a coating powder base composition having a viscosity of about 2 to about 85 Pa s. Such composition is manufactured in a large batch and then can give a color of a desired coating powder by mixing a portion of a smaller amount in the batch with a variety of colorants. The desired viscosity can be obtained by introducing a resin modifier. The invention also relates to such base composition, a manufacturing method for a coating powder to be obtained, and a coating method using this coating powder. Finally, two or more of resin base compositions are mixed together with a colorant, which can give a desired gloss and color. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
