PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To greatly improve forming efficiency of cut pieces while maintaining cutting quality high. SOLUTION: Between a first carrying conveyor 2 of a constant carrying-in speed, and a second carrying conveyor 3 of a higher carrying-out speed than that, a cutting device 4 is provided. The cutting device 4 is provided with a traveling base 6 movable downstream at a similar speed to the carrying-in speed, a plurality of cutting tools 7, and feed conveyors 9 provided on the downstream side of the respective cutting blades 8 to be continuous with them. Each feed conveyor 9 is changeable between a strip feeding speed Va to carry strips WO at the carrying-in speed, and a cut piece feed speed Vb to carry cut pieces w at the carrying-out speed. Their speed is changed to the cutting piece feed speed Vb in order from the most downstream side feed conveyor 9 on. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
